Wendy has been a workshop presenter for National Association For Family Child Care, MnYaec Conferences, Minnesota Daycare Provider Cooperative, Anoka County Preschool Association, Parenting Cooperatives, ECFE, Minnesota River Valley Special Ed consortium, as well as, on site workshops for schools throughout the Twin Cities.

Music Workshops focus on curriculum development that will motivate students to participate. In Wendy’s workshops, she demonstrates a variety of teaching techniques to provide teachers and childcare workers more tools to spark the imagination of their students.

Some of Wendy’s workshops include:

Interactive Music (I Can Be A Leader, Too)

What makes music sing? What makes stories fun? Participate and create a curriculum with music and stories that will have every child involved in singing, composing, writing, and creating. Focus on what motivates students to learn and take part. Content area: Teaching practices and curriculum models. Preschool, Kindergarten – 2.

Put the Move in the Music

Learn great strategies on how and when to use music and movement in the classroom to keep students focused and participating throughout the day. Guided movement will keep students engaged in each lesson and improve their concentration. During this class, teachers will learn new action songs and learn how to use familiar melodies to add guided movement for their students.

Song Games

Games help teach your child about aspiration, success, and disappointment. Children gain experience with both winning and losing—and learn that no matter what the result, next time they try they begin again with a clean slate. Games also give you the opportunity to teach the preschooler about rules, about integrity and honesty, and about luck. Games also can help increase your child's ability to focus attention.

Elements to keep in mind:
- Not all games need a winner.
- All students need an opportunity to lead their team.
- Teaching cooperation among teammates is a great life lesson that improves communication skills.
